Digital Media is art created on the computer, there are many degrees of digital media though one thing they have in common is they all use a computer. For example drawing a picture on a computer is less digital TO ME than altering a photograph because the computer does less of the execution in the first. The more important the role of the computer the more digital it is.
One advantage is you can do a wider rande of things and it takes less effort. One disadvantage for me of an increase in digital media though is that other art form like claymation for example decrease in use.
